free copy of Draft #2
August 30, 2012
I’ve complete draft #2. Now the hard word of draft #3 starts.
A few friends have volunteered to read through draft #2 and offer feedback.
Here’s the deal, in case anyone else would like to get in on it:
You commit
- to reading the book
- either marking it up physically and mailing it to me, or sending me an email
In return, I will:
- send you a free print copy of draft #2
- after you mail it back to me and I’m done reading your hand-written comments, I’ll mail it back to you (signed, if you wish)
- thank you in the acknowledgements of the final edition of the book (both print and e-book)
- mail you a thank you gift when the book goes live
If that sounds like a deal you want in on, email me your shipping address. If you’re not already a friend, I’m still open to the idea – but please tell me a bit about yourself either in email or in the comments below.
By the way, here’s the my quick-and-dirty stab at three-piece wraparound artwork for the draft hard-copy (click to embiggen):

I’m not a friend, just someone who has followed and enjoyed your writing for many years. I am a father of 5, soon to be 6. My wife homeschools while I work in the technology space. I love sci-fi books and read great ones multiple times. Even if you don’t pick me, I will still purchase a copy once released.
So very tempting …
However, since I’ve given you feedback already, I think you’ll get more bang for the buck from somebody else. And, I’m still excited to fork over the money when the book hits printers.
Seems reasonable. At this point I’ve got about 10 people signed up, and I’ve put a ~ $200 sized hole in my credit card sending off copies last night.
…but thanks so much for your interest, and I look forward to selling you a real copy! 😉
…waaait a minute. Marking it up physically? Commenting via e-mail? What is this, the stone age??!?
git diff -p
If the offer’s still good, I’d love to read through it.
