Started on 17 March, finished on 30 Octover. I took a break for about 6 weeks, so that’s 185 days of work, which yields 1,794 words / day.
Now on to draft 5.
I’ve got copyediting feedback to include, and in another three weeks I should be getting some novel-coaching feedback, so there’s a lot more work to be done.
Still hoping to have this done by June 2014.

I was hoping to get the books for Christmas, but I’ll settle to have them as summer reading next year.
I hate to keep slipping the deadline like this.
In my defense, I’m doing it so that I only ship a high quality product.
I’m not worried about getting the books at all; I’m just impatient. But, at least from my vantage point, you have done better than some writers at managing the stress of such a large project (Tad Williams called the “Memory Sorrow and Thorn” series “the book[s] that ate [his] life”; and I really love those books!).
